Increasing the Resolution of the Barcode To 600 x 600 Resolution

We are currently using the Dynamic Barcode Generator Subscription for generating PDF417 and Aztec barcodes. The URL code takes the form of /IDAutomationStreamingPDF417.aspx?D=… to get the barcode streamed back to our application.

We are looking to increase the resolution of the barcodes. Are there any configuration settings that may be changed to get the desired result?

James	Best Answer To increase the resolution when streaming a barcode image (via URL parameter) from the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS (self-hosted) or Dynamic Barcode Generator Subscription (IDAutomation-hosted), one would use the IR (Image Resolution) parameter. The IR parameter will set the DPI (dots per inch) of the streamed barcode to the assigned value, but will not set the absolute (length x height) image size. Depending on where the image is being streamed to, it might be possible to set an absolute image size in the field containing the barcode image. IDAutomation does not directly provide implementation-specific support for this action and strongly cautions clients performing absolute image scaling that scanability might be sacrificed, as each barcode symbology follows specific guidelines as to white space, length-to-height ratio, minimum DPI (which might depend on the scanner being used), and other unmentioned factors. This possibility is mentioned for completeness in answering the posed question. The general guideline is to adjust given URL parameters until the barcode image appears as desired.
