Excel Add-In Will Not Encode DataMatrix

I downloaded the Excel Add-In to use along with the IDAutomation DataMatrix Font Package in Excel.

After I select a set of data and press Change To Barcode, the data does not get encoded and shows as =EncDM_Text("1").

Can you advise on how to proceed?

Note: A new product (Native Barcode Generator for Excel) has been released since this post was resolved that offers an easier method of generating barcodes in Excel: http://www.idautomation.com/barcode-components/excel-native-generator/

[Support Note: Client sent in information via email.]

There are various unrelated points to cover, numbered below for clarity:

1. 2D barcodes converted to CSV format will not transfer the encoding correctly because the CSV format cannot retain the 'stacked data' of the barcode.
2. The Add-In is a free font-encoder. Since there are so many security settings that vary from one version of Office to the next, we cannot provide troubleshooting for the Add-In, if issues are encountered.

Try the following to resolve the issue:

• Make sure the IDAutomation DataMatrix barcode font is installed.
• Uninstall the Add-In through Control Panel.
• Reinstall the Add-In from the latest version(as a user with administrator rights on the machine).
• Reboot machine.
• If Add-In still does not work correctly, the official workaround is to use the free VBA font encoder. Pay careful attention to the tabbed topics.
