Despite purchasing a license, some barcodes contain "DEMO"


Good morning

Despite purchasing a "Data Matrix Font and Encoder Suite - Single Site" license, some of our barcodes still contain the word "DEMO".
While the DEMO version has been uninstalled, the server restarted, and the production version installed.

How can we no longer have this mention in some of our barcodes?

Hello PlurialNovilia,

Thank you for reaching out to IDAutomation. From the photo example you provided, I noticed two Data Matrix Barcodes, one generated with the Font Encoder Application and the other generated in what seems to be Crystal Reports. While they both scan, the one in CR does contain ‘Demo’ still.

This issue typically arises when all instances of the 'DEMO' version haven't been completely uninstalled, including registry entries. Crystal Reports, in particular, may retain remnants of the demo version if not thoroughly removed. Be sure that no UFLs remain. Clear the cache, remove temporary files, and empty the recycling bin.

It's crucial to uninstall all components associated with the demo version, including any mention of IDAutomation. Additionally, be sure to reboot the machine after uninstallation to fully clear any lingering remnants.

Once you’ve performed the complete uninstall, with Crystal Reports still closed, run the EXE, and then continue to the Crystal Reports Tutorial here: Crystal Reports Tutorial

To test if your computer has successfully removed the Demo files install a blank crystal report with the font formula (as mentioned in the tutorial above) and test scan the barcode, if DEMO does not appear, then this proves that all the DEMO software was not removed
