Resolved Questions

I am trying to add a Code 39 barcode to Excel for Mac 2011 on a Mac with OS 10.8.2

I purchased and installed the following: IDA06 IDAutomation Code 39 Font Advantage Package (Single User License) and IDA10 IDAutomation Code 128 Font Advantage Package (Single User License). I downloaded the IDAutomation_WordExcelAdd-in.zip file, I copied IDAutomation_Excel_Addin.xla to the folder Microsoft Office 2011/Office/Add-ins, and I selected the check box in Excel for the IDAutomation_Excel_Addin.xla add-in by going to Tools -> Add-ins in Excel. When I open a worksheet (both xls and xlsx extensions), highlight the column of data (I tried after formatting data as general and number with the same results), and click on the taskbar Code 39, the data changes from 12345 to !12345!. There is no option for 'Change to barcode' to select as shown on the website. My goal is to create a scannable barcode image in Excel which I will save as a PDF.

Operating System: Mac OS 10.8.2

Brian,
First, install the IDAutomationHC39 font on the MAC:
https://www.idautomation.com/kb/macOSX-fonts-install.html

Second, follow this tutorial to create the barcode in a column in Excel:

Thanks Ben. I don't see IDAutomationC39 or IDAutomation HC39 as an option to choose. Please advise.

Thanks again.

The Change to Barcode option is available in certain versions of Microsoft Office. In your case, the Code 39 option encodes the data by placing exclamation points around the data. You could then select the row and modify the font by selecting any IDAutomationC39 or IDAutomationHC39 font.

Regarding Code 128 Fonts on Mac: There may be issues due to the character setting.
