Problem creating Code 128 barcodes on Mac

We are in a jam! We cannot get the font encoder to load and work with Excel (Mac) and MUST get a job printed today with a 128C barcode. Can I send my .xls to someone to encode for us in a pinch today? Need barcode printable characters to use with the font.

For Code 128 and Interleaved 2 of 5, IDAutomation font encoders encode data using specific characters. Since Mac uses the Roman character set, these encoded characters will not properly display and can cause issues with the barcode including small empty boxes surrounding the data or barcodes that will not scan.

There are a few options for encoding/creating Code 128 barcodes using Code 128 standard fonts on Mac.

Option 1
Encode the data in Excel for Windows using the Excel Barcode Add In or VBA

Once the data is encoded, save the file as a CSV(Macintosh)
image

When the file is saved as a CSV Macintosh, certain encoded characters that will not generally display on Mac will be visible.

Once the data is saved, copy or export the file to Mac (in Excel, InDesign, Quark, or any application that you are working on) and apply the IDAutomationC128 font to the encoded data.

Option 2
The Code 128 for Mac or Universal Barcode Font Solution.

Excel 2004 and 2011:

Use font tools to generate specific barcode types using the Universal Font Package:

Barcode Add-In for Excel

Excel 2008:
AppleScript Font Encoder

NOTE:
The standard Code 128 Barcode Fonts and the FileMaker Pro Font Encoder are compatible with FileMaker Pro.

I read your email and see that you are using 2008, your only solution would be to use the VBA on PC to encode the data and then transfer it to Mac OR use the AppleScript solution.

I understand the instructions, and how it works, and how to make it work...the problem is we cannot get the VBA or plugins to work on our Excel and I just need a solution for TODAY...I can work out the bugs later on but have a project that is a MUST GO today and I have no workable solution other than to find someone to encode my data for me.
