Crystal Reports not concatenating fields properly with +

We are using the Native Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports and we are experiencing a problem with the barcode scanning. The text in the barcode contains chr(13) and should scan properly as a return, however, it seems this data is not concatenating properly. It seems the field is being added together instead of concatenating. The Crystal Report formula is:

WhilePrintingRecords;
Global StringVar Kardex;
Kardex := Kardex + {Field1} + chr(13) + totext({Field2},0) + chr(13);
However, the barcode scans as below:
uk h20 q1001330013Uk h20 q10001310013

Are you able to let us know why the barcode scan shows "10001310013" instead of the data in the fields?

In some cases when using Crystal Reports, the & symbol should be used to concatenate fields instead of the + because + is also used for math functions. If the chr(13) still does not encode properly, enable ApplyTilde and try using "~013" instead, for example:
{Field1} & "~013" & totext({Field2},0) & "~013";
