Reusing barcode formula as function in Crystal Reports

I have experience using the MS Access Native Generator for Access Reports. The way it works is that the generator code exists in only one place (a code module) as a function. It is then used as often as needed from reports by calling the function. I am new to the Crystal Reports Native Generator. If I have a report with multiple barcodes, do I have to paste in all the generator code for each barcode? Is there no way to use it as a function?

There is a way to create report custom functions that may be used multiple times on the same report, and it stays embedded in the report. The idea would be to basically turn the formula into a function and then call the function from a text object. It would be a more complex implementation and it would make the installation process more difficult at first. The process is similar to the Report Custom Functions section of the Crystal Reports Font Formula page.

Hi Brant. Tested and working. I'm using it as described in the original post: a single function called multiple times to generate multiple barcodes as opposed to having to repeat the entire barcode generation logic for each barcode on the report. It seems like the logic way to me and because I used it that way in MS Access, it made sense to me. Thanks again.
