Alternative to using IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde

We are having issues with GS1-128 barcodes using the ufl IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde since upgrading to Microsoft Server 2012 and a newer release of Crystal Reports. Regular barcodes that use the IDAutomation_Code128A seem to work ok. Is there an alternative to using the IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde ufl for GS1-128 barcodes i.e. -

IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde ("~212" & "91" & CustItemRef)

would something like -

IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde (chr(212) & "91" & CustItemRef)

work or is there another option?

Thanks

IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde is a function from an older legacy UFL. IDAutomation recommends using the Crystal Font Formulas instead of the UFL. The Font Formulas are provided in the download of the latest version.

To resolve the issue with the legacy UFL:

Uninstall the previous version of the UFL and install the latest UFL.
The new updated UFL (released 11-2014) is accessed as a Visual Basic UFL:

This used to work on Windows XP and Crystal Reports 11. Now on Windows 7 and Crystal Reports 11 SP 6

I downloaded and installed the newest ufl and had some inconsistent results. The report has 4 GS 1 barcodes, when enabling the formulas I get one or two to work (doesn't have to be the same ones) and then Crystal Reports crashes (windows log says ntdll.dll crashed).

Confused by the documentation on the web page doesn't match the ufl though -
IDAutomationCode128 (DataToEncode, ApplyTilde) doesn't seem to be an option in the ufl, but there still is the IDAutomationCode128AppyTilde...

Verify that you are using the very latest UFL for Crystal Reports to generate Code 128 barcodes.

Download Crystal UFL

Within the Code 128 Font Package, we also include font formulas that can produce GS1-128 barcodes.
