GS1-128 Encoding Help Needed

We use the various IDAutomation products for Crystal Reports and produced the following barcode:

DataToEncode: (01)23456(02)789
image

Scan Result: ]C0(01)23456(02)789

It is not scanning as a GS1-128 barcode should. What advice do you have?

Operating System: Windows

Application: CrystalReports

The DataToEncode is formatted correctly with GS1 Application Identifiers (AI), using parentheses.

Make sure:
• The Code 128 ‘Auto’ report/function is being used (see the respective user manual).
ApplyTilde (ProcessTilde) is set to True.

Once done, the barcode will be more efficient (have a smaller footprint) and scan correctly:

The Free Barcode Scanner ASCII String Decoder gives the following result:
]C10123456<GS>02789

Where the following characters:
]C1 is the correct initial FNC1 interpreted output (when the AIM ID is enabled on the scanner).
<GS> is the correct trailing FNC1 interpreted output (given 02 is a variable AI for this example).

IDAutomation also offers the free Barcode Decoder App which parses out GS1 data to verify proper encoding.
