How do I create an SSCC18 Barcode using the Native Generator for Crystal Reports?


I have the data (00)00801234999999999 and I need to generate a check digit for SSCC18. What do I do?

First, review the video tutorial or manual on how to install and use the Native Generator for Crystal Reports.



SSCC18 or SSCC-18 is a standard that uses the Code 128 barcode symbology. Code 128 Therefore, we will want to use the code from the report named IDAutomation Native - Code 128 Auto.rpt

In the example, I will create the SSCC18 using a hard-coded value. Paste the code from the Code 128 Auto report into your own report. If you need assistance, follow the tutorial or manual.

To encode the data, set ApplyTilde = True. Then set the DataToEncode = "~2120000801234999999999~m17"

The ~212 identifies a two-digit FNC or AI. For three digits, use ~213. For four digits, use ~214, etc.

The ~m17 runs a calculation on 17 digits to calculate the 18th digit (the check character).
