GS1-128 420 Standalone AI


Hello,

I am trying to generate a stand alone GS1 128 (420) AI code. The FNC command doesn't seem to be generating.

I am using the Crystal Native Generator and the ApplyTilde is true.
The data I am encoding is ~20242060477
On scan using the Pretty GS1 IOS App, it doesn't show the FNC1 character being encoded. I also tried (420)60477, and chr(202) & "402" & "60477"

Hello Dave,

The scan I attached to my first answer is the scan of the barcode that you attached to this incident which shows the FNC1 decoded correctly. Please make sure that you check the settings in the Barcode Decoder App that you have set to process GS1 and to show special characters.

Thank you. I am also using your Barcode Data Decoder Verifier, but it doesn't seem to show me the FNC1 identifier.
I have attached a screen shot when I scan the same image that I uploaded on this thread. In the mobile app, I have all of the default types enabled as I haven't changed anything from the default settings.



I just want to make sure that the barcodes have the proper encoding.

Hello Dave,

When encoding FNC1 functions, these are not visible characters in the scan. You can scan your barcodes using our Barcode Data Decoder Verifier App to see the FNC1 and when I scan your barcode, the FNC1 is encoded in the barcode as per the below image of the scan.

IDAutomation cannot speak for the Pretty GS1 application you are using or whether it is supposed to show invisible characters such as FNC1, but when scanned with our application, you can see that the FNC1 is there and scanning correctly. We would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of the app you are using for assistance or using the IDAutomation application.
