I need help with a u212com.dll issue on an upgraded version of Sage X3.

Good day,
I urgently require help from someone. We have a client who is using IDAutomation for a barcode report. They have been on an older patch of Sage X3, and we upgraded them last night to the latest patch. We keep getting the below error. Is there an updated font pack that needs to be installed? We have tried to move the u212com.dll into the directory for Crystal Reports and the print server but the issue is still there.

Hello Herman,

UFL errors in Crystal Reports can be somewhat misleading as they do not always mean that the UFL is not present, only that it cannot be contacted. The UFL installation for Crystal Reports is considered a legacy installation method and it is no longer fully supported by IDAutomation. We recommend that you change to a Font Formula installation as it does not require any UFL to generate the barcodes. The Font Formulas are available in all Developer licensed packages for the corresponding font/encoder package.

Based on your error message, it appears that you may be using the hybrid installation for the Native Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports which also uses a UFL and the recommendation for that package is to use the installation that does not require the UFL which is available in the purchased package files.

As of this time, I have not been able to locate where you have purchased a product previously from IDAutomation and if you needed a new download for your software from your original purchase, we would need to locate that original order so I can advise you on how to purchase Level 2 Support which will enable a new download link for you for one year. I see that you also emailed us and I will follow up via email to obtain information to locate your original order.

If you must use the UFL or Hybrid installation for Crystal Reports, there is information in this article regarding troubleshooting: Crystal Reports UFL Errors U2lcom U212com and Solutions that you can go through to see if you can resolve the issue but if the items in that article are not sufficient, we would again recommend changing to a Font Formula or the Native Generator installation that does not require the UFL.

Customer emailed to advise they had updated the formulas and the issue is resolved.
