Problem reading multiple variable length element strings GS1

We bought a "IDAutomation Code 128 Font Advantage Package", and we are making some labels for the Meat Market.
We organized the label with all fixed-length elements at the start, but we have 2 variable elements: AI 423 and AI 424.
When using the following sample (in Crystal Reports), it prints correctly, but the reader does not separate the AI 423 from the 424.

IDAutomation_Code128 (CHR(212) + "17" + "200801" + CHR(213) + "423" + "620" + CHR(213) + "424" + "620")

After looking around, we found this post: https://support.idautomation.com/Barcode-FAQ/Barcode-GS1-not-complying-with-standard/_2105
When using the following sample, the application that calls the label (designed in Crystal Reports) crashes, with no error:

IDAutomationCode128 ("(17)200801423620(424)620",true)

We recommend using the Crystal Font Formulas instead of the legacy UFL for most situations. The native formula is provided as an example in the installation package. The FNC1 can be encoded as CHR(202) in the native formula. Try the following using the native formula:

DataToEncode = (CHR(202) & "17" & "200801" & "423" & "620" & CHR(202) & "424" & "620")

You may refer to the GS1 AI (Application Identifier) & Element String Specification Reference for more information.

When generating GS1 symbols, IDAutomation recommends testing the result with the Barcode Decoder App which parses out GS1 data to verify proper encoding.
