U2lcom.dll is missing

Hello,

I installed the demo version from IDAutomation_QRCodeWindowsFontEncoderDEMO.zip. If I open the Crystal Example.rpt I get the "U2lcom.dll missing" error message. I reinstalled the demo and rebooted my computer with no success. The u2lcom.dll is in C:WindowsSysWOW64 and in C:WindowsSystem32 available.

What else can I do?

I use Win7 x64 and Crystal 2008.

Best regards
Axel

Axel,

From what you are describing this may be a 64-bit crystal installation. This is where the directory names are counterintuitive. On a 64-bit system, the 64-bit dll files are in the system32 folder, and 32-bit dlls are in the SysWOW64 folder. And 32-bit programs are in C:Program Files (x86) and 64-bit programs are in C: Program Files. Since Crystal has copied files in both 32 and 64-bit directories, this may be a 64-bit installation. Usually, the About option in the Help menu has this information.

It sounds like this version of Crystal is not recognizing the U2lcom.dll, which should be installed with Crystal.
Would it be possible to contact business objects to confirm this?

Change the solution platform from "Any CPU" to "x86".

Hello Admin,

IDAutomationQRCODE64.dll is in C:Windows
IDAutomationQRCODE.dll is in C:WindowsSysWOW64
CRUFL_IDAutomationQR.dll is in C:WindowsSysWOW64

How can I determine if it's a 32 or 64-bit version of Crystal? I had to make a "normal" installation, the same installation I did on 32-Bit Systems. If I look in Crystal under Help->Info->More Information I see, that there are files under C:WindowsSysWOW64 and C:WindowsSystem32.
The same with Program files. Most of them are under C:Program Files (x86) but there is also a C:Program FilesBusiness ObjectsCommon2.8bin folder. It's a little bit confusing.

Thanks a lot for your support!!!

Axel,

Can you verify that the CRUFL_IDAutomationQR.dll and the IDAutomationQRCODE.dll were copied to the SysWOW64 directory and that the IDAutomationQRCODE64.dll file was copied to the C:Windows directory? These are the files that actually encode the data.
Also which version of Crystal 2008 is being used, 32 or 64-bit?
The U2lcom.dll is actually a Crystal file and has had problems in the 64-bit version of Crystal.
