Difference between DataBar Expanded and DataBar Expanded Stacked

DataBar Expanded and DataBar Expanded Stacked uses the same symbology--DataBar Expanded. The only difference between the two is the amount of segments. Segments determines how the barcode will be stacked based on modules and other values.

image

Image 1 is a DataBar Expanded with 22 segments (meaning that it is not stacked) and Image 2 is a DataBar Expanded with 4 segments (produces stacked) = DataBar Stacked.

DataBar Expanded (22 Segments):

DataBar Expanded Stacked (4 Segments):

Notice that the Expanded Stacked barcode is a broken, stacked version of the DataBar Expanded.

All IDAutomation DataBar barcode products can produce the DataBar Expanded Stacked barcode.

Applications (Label Software Pro, Databar Image Generator):
Set the symbology to DataBar Expanded and modify the Segments property.

Image Generator Example:

Components (Java Component, .NET Forms Control, ASP for IIS)

In Java, set the symbology to DATABAREXPANDED and set a value for setExpandedStackedSegments()

In .NET, set the Databar.Symbologies to DatabarExpanded and set a value for ExpandedStackedSegments.

DataBar Fonts requires a font encoder to format data. To generate DataBar Expanded Stacked, use the IDAutomation DataBar 34 font and depending on the font encoder, set the DataToEncode and the Segments parameters.

Example:
DataBarExpanded (DataToEncode, Segments)

DataBarExpanded (240123456789045654654564564564654654, 6)

NOTE: DataBar Expanded Barcode with font applied to encoded data.
