BI Publisher with UPS/EAN Fonts

We use the GS1 UPC/EAN Barcode Font Package. We need to use them with a Oracle BI Publisher (XML Publisher) report.

When we used the Oracle posts before, the answer referenced the use of a java encoder class. That class only works for Code 128 not UPC.

Can you help me?

Application: Oracle EBS

I. Using Barcode Fonts:

If you want to use barcode fonts, you would purchase the Developer’s license (at minimum) of the GS1 UPC/EAN Barcode Font Package, which includes the Java Class File in the download.

II. Using Barcode Images:

If you want to produce barcode images, then you could use one of these options*:

1. Purchase the Developer’s license (at minimum) of the IDAutomation Java Linear Barcode Package.

2. IDAutomation barcode image streaming product

Note: For its ease of implementation, I would recommend #2 above for Oracle XML/BIP. General implementation guides are available to aid you in your implementation.

* You would use your expertise to implement these products, as we do not have Oracle XML/BIP implementation guides for them

The Oracle Reports and XML/BIP solutions are not able to be combined.

The data source for the BI Publisher report that we are developing is an Oracle Report. Given that I was wondering if the "Barcode Generator for Oracle Reports" would work for this application? One concern I had is that will this product generate a UPC-A type barcode?

So we need to purchase a developers license to the "Java Barcode Package"?

The UPC functions are accessible through the LinearFontEncoder.class in the IDAutomation_LinearJavaFontEncoder.jar file.

When I go to the Java Class File link it does have a UPC-A entry in the matrix. When I click on it, it brings up a Java method for 128, not UPC. Maybe I am seeing it wrong.

I believe you were looking at the old encoder code provided in the Oracle posts. Instead, use your expertise to implement the Java Class File, using the Oracle posts as a general guide:
