Problems with the Code128b Barcode

Hi all,

we are using VBA Functions for BarCode v 2.30 and have problems with different encodings.
For example: in an Excel sheet we use '=code128b("0.1.42.3")', the VBA code generates a string like this
'Ö0.1.42.3Ãä'. But the char for the checksum (ASCII 195) wasn't shown correctly. The Barcode Output (with Font "Code 128" print a square instead of a "line-code". Referring to over 5000 id numbers in our database, about 10 percent are encoded with errors :( Any help

Hello,

This is usually a character set issue with special characters. The workaround is to use the universal font package instead. The universal functions encode the data to just alpha characters, where each letter is a single bar in the barcode.
Here is the knowledge base article for additional information.

Not sure if you are already using it but we have our Word and Excel add-in that will install all the necessary Excel functions and make changes to a barcode as easy as clicking a button.
