Data Matrix Format Inconsistency

I have downloaded the demo DataMatrix Barcode Font Package and am using the VBA to encode data in Excel.

I am using the EncDM() function and I am able to create a Data Matrix barcode in a cell with no problem. However, when I scan the result, it does not provide me with the proper string.

As a baseline for comparison, I used the DataMatrix Streaming Barcode Generator, which gave me the desired results.

I then made sure that the EncDM parameters (encoding mode, preferred format, process tilde) in Excel matched the DataMatrix Streaming Barcode Generator.

The result in Excel is a DataMatrix barcode that does not match the expected results.

What is your advice?

Observations:
1. Image 2 in the previous post scanned as <EOT><BEL>, which might have seen a result of hidden characters (from Excel) being encoded – the exact reason is hard to troubleshoot with the given information.
2. By design, demo products contain a random watermark in the barcode, which is why the user may see differences in the encoding. The ‘demo behavior’ is not present in the sale version.

Results:
I recreated the issue using your data and received the following correct encoding:

In general, we recommend that the defaults be used in encoding unless there is a specific requirement needed.

This is from the DataMatrix Streaming Barcode Generator:

Settings:
· Encoding Mode = ASCII
· Preferred Format = 16 x 16
· Process Tilde = Enabled

The next 2 images are from Excel. The interesting thing is that I get two different-looking bar codes when I update the cell:

· VBA function: =EncDM("MVS-STD-00036", 1, 3, 3)
· Barcode Font: IDAutomation 2D XLS

Please post a clear image of the DataMatrix barcode you are creating (or a screenshot of what you are seeing) in Excel so we may analyze it.
