Barcode not readable with 203dpi printers

Hello,

We bought the native crystal report barcode generator two years ago and we are using it with a 203dpi Datamax printer.

Our scanners aren't able to read the C128 barcodes. We tried to slow down the print, check contrast, etc. and nothing worked well. The support says that these barcode generators should be used with a 600 dpi printer, which was the case during our test.

So what kind of font or generator should we use with our 203dpi printer and Crystal report?

Can you send a PDF of the generated barcodes to admin@idautomation.com? I can run a test print on a thermal printer.

The recommended product for thermal printers are barcode fonts: https://www.idautomation.com/barcode-fonts/code-128/

To add to Ben's comment, the Code 128 font printed at 12 points will precisely match up to the resolution of a thermal printer. That is your best option.

One more thing,

The font or generator should allow us to change parts of the encoding.

For example, we have to encode 8L4568791502

8L Should be C128A
4568 in C128C
7915 in C128B
02 in C128C
