Can you help me with an issue I am having with anchoring?

Hi, I have setup several label templates with the Barcode Label Software that pull from an external data source. Basically, the end user scans a work order, and I have MS Access generate information (Customer Name, Part#, Description, etc) to a table that your software is linked to. That part works very well. However, no matter how I adjust the anchor point, some fields are shifted when the data changes length very much. Please see the attached PDF file where I have a short and long "Customer Name" sample, with the anchor centered. My end goal is for the Customer name to remain centered on this 4 x 6 label (the center "tick" marks on the label field should remain on the 3" mark on the 6" long label.

debrac	Best Answer Hello Mark, Thank you for contacting us. The "Anchor" setting is designed to anchor the barcodes or text within the field and not the field itself and it appears that you are trying to anchor a text box instead of a barcode at a 90-degree rotation. The Anchor setting also assumes that you are using an external data source or have an embedded data source where the data will change with each barcode or text box. When I test a text box using the Anchor setting with a vertical text box in the position you are using, the center setting you have chosen anchors the data inside the text box to always be centered. Make sure when you highlight the object to be centered that you are on the correct object > right click > properties > Anchor > Choose the anchor spot for the center > click "Apply" > click "Ok". Then when you change the label number, you should see the Anchor has anchored the text or barcode inside the object in the position it was placed. Here are some screenshots of my Barcode Label Software using an embedded data set showing how the anchor is working: 1) The first label with a short word 2) Then I advance to the second label from the embedded data set and you can see that the text box is still centered in the same position and with longer wording, it has expanded the text box from the same center point Posted 49 day(s) ago (0) (0) Report Abuse
