To Encode Database Field in Crystal Reports Barcode

We are using the Datamatrix Native Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports. We want to generate a bar code for the Database field "Inventory_entry.entry_name", where "Inventory_entry" is the table and "entry_name" is the field. When we scan the bar code we read the value as "Inventory_entry.entry_name", and not the actual value.

Double check the field assignment and make sure it is like DataToEncode = ({Table.Field}) and not DataToEncode = "({Table.Field})". If that does not work, we recommend trying to place this field in a standard text object to make sure the database connection is working correctly. Once you get that working, use a process of elimination to narrow down the issue. You could also delete the DataToEncode line of text and retype it to ensure there are no hidden control characters causing problems.
