Provide more feedback. Does the barcode scan? What issue is occurring?

After installing the barcode fonts and the Barcode Add-In for Word and Excel, open Word; there should be an Add-ins tab available within Word.

Enter data into Word.

Highlight the data.

In the IDAutomation Add-In, select the barcode type to create and choose Change to Barcode.

To generate Code 128 barcodes in C#, we have the .NET Assembly Font Encoder. It is included with the purchase of Developer License barcode font packages.

Because Code 128 is a complex barcode font, it must be encoded using a font encoder such as an Add-In or code that manipulates the data to make it readable. Encoding adds specific characters to the barcode so that it is identified as a specific type of barcode. It also condenses the data so that the barcode has a smaller width.

To learn about encoding, view How encoding works.

What is the purpose of a font encoder?

To work with an easier barcode type, consider Code 39 Barcode Fonts. Code 39 only requires asterisks at both ends of the data before applying the barcode font.
